| What is Defined Daily Dose (DDD)? |
A defined daily dose is the assumed average maintenance dose per day for a drug used for its main indication in adults (World Health Organisation, WHO definition). The number of DDDs for each antibiotic is determined by a group of experts from the WHO and is a technical unit of measurement and not necessarily a measure of good practice.
